Renata Fabbri is pleased to participate in Artissima 2024, presenting the works of Vlatka Horvat (b. 1974, Croatia) and Serena Vestrucci (b. 1986, Milan). Conceived as a dual solo presentation, the booth project brings together for the first time the practices of the two artists through a selection of never-before-seen and recent photographic works, collages, drawings, paintings, and sculptures.

Although distinct in the languages employed, the practices of Horvat and Vestrucci converge in their appropriation of simple, ordinary situations, objects, and materials. Once altered, manipulated, deconstructed, or reassembled, these produce reversals of both spatial and social order, as well as the slippages and transformations of meaning.

Drawing inspiration from everyday experiences, both artists’ works intertwine with the fabric of everyday life, inviting us to reconsider and expand our perception of limits and borders.
Through a set of minimal and often playful interventions, their works shape representations at the intersection of the logical and the paradoxical, the possible and the imaginable, blurring multiple boundaries: those between art and life, between the ordinary and the extraordinary, and between one medium and another.

Horvat and Vestrucci share an ironic, poetic, and simultaneously provocative attitude, displaying a keen sensitivity to detail. Their works across forms frequently bring to the fore the peripheral elements which may have initially seemed trivial or insignificant, but which – when viewed from new angles – can unlock profound insights into how we understand reality, human relationships, and the surrounding environment.
