Kwangwoo Han
Kwangwoo Han was born in Seoul, South Korea. He attended Chung-Ang University where, in 2007, he received a B.F.A. in Sculpture. In 2009, he received his M.E. in Art Education from the University Graduate School of Kook-Min. In 2012, he received his B.F.A. in Sculpture from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
In his work, the artist depicts life as a continuous movement, using the human figure – which is twirled – to symbolize life and its continuous movements for survival.
His installations consist of candid plaster sculptures characterized by similar, essential, abstract forms, juxtaposed together in modular patterns and resting on circular pedestals that force them into unstable balance. The movement of the pedestal reflects the repetitiveness of daily rhythms and activities in human life.
